Gurukul Trust Fund Scholarship Award Ceremony 2011

Yesterday at 10:30 a.m., the Padma Campus of Kushtia Gurukul, located in Kalishankarpur, Kushtia town, hosted the 2011 Gurukul Trust Fund and SASEG Trust Fund Scholarship Award Ceremony. At the event, scholarships were distributed and cheques were handed over to outstanding students.

The ceremony, held at the Kushtia Gurukul auditorium, was graced by the presence of Mr Md Fazlur Rahman, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Overall), Kushtia, as the chief guest. During the programme, Engineer Sufi Faruq Ibne Abubakar, Founder of Gurukul Campus Learning Network, announced the establishment of nine new trust funds under the Gurukul and SASEG Trust Fund schemes for the year 2011.

The newly announced trust funds are named after:

  1. Fakir Lalon Shah

  2. Mir Mosharraf Hossain

  3. Kangal Harinath Majumdar

  4. Dr Professor Humayun Azad

  5. Muhammad Abubakar

  6. Sufi Muhammad Ainuddin

  7. Haji Mokaddes Hossain

  8. Gazi Habibur Rahman

  9. Philanthropist Alauddin Ahmed

In his address, Chief Guest Mr Md Fazlur Rahman said, “In today’s world, there is no alternative to technical education for developing skilled human resources. Gurukul’s initiative will open new avenues of employment for young people.”

Special Guest Mr Akkas Ali Monju, President of FBAB Kushtia Branch, remarked, “Trained technical manpower is essential for the growth of trade and commerce. Gurukul’s students will play a significant role in the industrial sector in the future.”

Mr Md Yasin Ali, Associate Director of Kushtia Gurukul’s Kamrul Islam Siddique Institute, stated, “Our students are graduating with both theoretical and practical competence. This is extremely positive for national development.”

Mr Md Liakat Ali, Chief Instructor of Power Technology at Kushtia Polytechnic Institute, said, “From the experience of Kushtia Polytechnic, I can say with confidence that the expansion of technical education is the key to industrialisation.”

Mr Monir Hasan, Board Member of Kamrul Islam Siddique Institute under Kushtia Gurukul, added, “Institutions like Gurukul are bringing qualitative changes to the lives of young people. May this progress continue.”

In his presidential speech, Engineer Sufi Faruq Ibne Abubakar said, “To transform the population of Bangladesh into a valuable human resource, Gurukul has already established several technical education institutions, with more under development. Here, students can receive appropriate, employment-oriented education at a low cost within a short period of time, enabling them to contribute to nation-building.”

The ceremony was attended by distinguished students of Gurukul, their guardians, and respected members of the local community. Following the discussions, a captivating band performance was presented by students of the institution alongside popular artistes from Kushtia. The event was conducted by Mr Tanvir Mehdi, Coordinator of SASEG, and Mr Anowar Kabir Bokul, Admin Officer.
