The much-anticipated Inter-Technology Victory Day Cricket Tournament 2015, organised by the Gurukul Education Family under the overall supervision of SASEG–Gurukul, was inaugurated in a colourful ceremony yesterday. The opening took place at 9:00 a.m. at the Ekota Field, adjacent to the Housing Nishan Mor area in Kushtia town. The event was formally inaugurated by Engineer Shahid Md. Kabir, Executive Engineer of the Kushtia Public Works Department, and Apon Bashar, Director of Bashar Cricket Academy.
Prize Distribution Ceremony
Prior to the inauguration, a prize-giving ceremony was held for the winners and runners-up of the Inter-Technology Cricket Tournament 2014. The ceremony was presided over by the Convenor of the Organising Committee, Nripen Kumar Saha. Monir Hasan, Director of Administration at SASEG–Gurukul Education Family, attended as the Chief Guest, while Jamat Ali, Sub-Assistant Engineer at the Kushtia Public Works Department, was present as the Special Guest.

The inauguration was graced by the presence of Tanvir Mehdi, Chief Coordinator; Engineer Helal Uddin, Academic In-Charge of the Engineering Department; Montu Bain, Academic In-Charge of the Medical Department; Shamim Rana, Legal and Media Coordinator; and Rafiqul Islam, Head of the Promotion Department.
Matches on the Opening Day
Three matches were played on the opening day:

First Match: Civil Technology defeated the Medical Institute by 24 runs.

Second Match: Garments Design and Pattern Making Technology triumphed over Mechanical Technology by 6 wickets.

Final Match of the Day: Textile Technology claimed victory over Computer Technology by 8 wickets.

Announcement of the Final
At the end of the first day’s play, Organising Committee Convenor Nripen Kumar Saha announced that the grand final of the tournament would take place on Wednesday, 16 December, marking the occasion of Victory Day.
