On 7 December 2015, the SASEG–Gurukul Debating Club successfully organised a one-day training workshop focused on debating, extempore speech, presentation skills, discipline, and viva voce preparation. A total of 41 students from various departments and academic years participated in the event.
Training Sessions
The workshop aimed to equip students with the techniques of structured debating, effective public speaking, formal presentation skills, maintaining decorum, and preparing for oral examinations. The sessions covered topics such as debate formats, the correct use of evidence and data, persuasive delivery, time management, and building confidence.

Purpose and Significance
Speakers at the workshop emphasised that debating and public speaking not only sharpen logical reasoning and analytical skills but also help students develop self-confidence and leadership qualities. Such programmes are instrumental in preparing students to excel both academically and in their professional and social lives.
Students’ Feedback
Participants expressed that the workshop had enriched their learning experience. They gained practical insights into debate techniques, strategies for maintaining audience engagement, and effective presentation methods.
